It’s so important when you go to an interview, especially these days, that you specialize. Or at the very least make it seem that you specialize in exactly the position you are going for.
If you put yourself in the shoes of the company, you’ll see that they want to hired motivated people that will stick around and have fun. That means they won’t be wasting money on training you and they can feel comfortable about your work quality.
So for example if you were trying to get a job in the luxury bedding market for a company that sells silk sheets, know everything about silk. Know about bedding and even more, about mattresses. It would also be really good to know information regarding silk comforters and the different parts of the bed.
When you demonstrate that you know the markets, the company knows they can build you up quicker. That is both really good for you and your future.
